IMPORTANT: JUNE IS BUDGET SEASON

June is when local governments finalize budgets for the upcoming year.

That means:

  • Public hearings on spending plans
  • Discussions about tax rates
  • Funding decisions for schools, public safety, and services
  • Additional work sessions and special meetings

Some of these meetings may:

  • Be scheduled with short notice
  • Not appear immediately on public calendars
  • Include last-minute agenda updates

Residents are encouraged to check official websites regularly throughout the month for updates.

How to Stay Involved

  • Review agendas before meetings
  • Attend in person or watch livestreams
  • Submit public comments when available
  • Follow town and county websites for updates

Local decisions don’t just happen,  they happen in these rooms.

And June is when many of the biggest ones are made.
